Travel | Manila Walking Tour
It is strange but it is true – we tend to not visit the historical places near our home because we know these places will always be there. We are tourists of our own place.
My friends and I have been meaning to do a Manila-Intramuros-Binondo Tour – but because of busy schedules and the reason that – “these places will always be there”, we still do not have a definite date as of this publishing 🙂
When I got invited to join a Manila Tour for a product launch (read about #everydaywithbioreuv here), I said yes without second thoughts.
We visited Fort Santiago – the old citadel where Philippines’ National Hero, Dr Jose Rizal was imprisoned before his execution, and San Agustin Church – a UNESCO heritage site in Manila.
The last time I went to Fort Santiago was when I was in College. It is nice to see that the fort has an interesting museum now which showcases artifacts and work by Jose Rizal. I am always amazed by his work and achievements, I sometimes wonder what is his only flaw?
Squad Goals!
We were thinking if Rizal was alive today, he must probably a blogger/columnist/influencer. He has so much talent and skills.
Jose Rizal’s Instagram Feed 😀 Puro selfie 😀
The San Agustin Church is another interesting destination. I am not Catholic but I have developed an interest with historical places. The church was built in 1571. It was rebuilt trice and is now certified a UNESCO heritage site.

I didn’t know San Agustin Church has a museum inside. It houses really fine artifacts and statues. I love the hallways which kind of how I picture Hogwarts 😀
Surprising and pleasing discovery, I spotted some cool millennials visiting these two destinations in Manila. Maybe they found the Fort Santiago and San Agustin Church instagrammable. I hope they listen to the tours too. Seriously, I think I am turning into a museum-kind of girl. OMG.
We would have wanted to explore Binondo and Luneta too. Maybe we can explore those places next time!
