Visit the Aviary

Island Cove’s Aviary just recently opened and the 3,500-square meter animal zone houses birds in different colors, personalities and characteristics. There’s Brahminy Kite, African Love Birds, ostrich and peacock. Don’t forget to say hello to that lonely bird who refused to leave his bird cage after his partner died.  🐦

Feed the Ostrich, Rabbits and Carry the Phyton!

Truth be told, I am (somewhat) afraid of animals. I feel that it is difficult to read and manage their emotions. But given the chance to do something extraordinary, or fun, or maybe just plain experiential, I would do it.

Such cute rabbits but they are not easy to pet. 

Island Cove has really nice staff that would assist guests in feeding, touching and petting the animals like rabbits, ostrich and python.  

Go Kart

I do not know how to ride a bike, so imagine my excitement when I got to go around Island Cove, pedaling my way in 4 wheels!

Adults and kids can go around the premises for only Php 100 for 15 minutes. It was super fun!

Play Inside King Crawler

Right outside the Oceana Swim and Splash Park is the King Crawler where kids can safely explore and climb in an urban play structure.  It has colorful rubber floor (EPDM) to minimize possibility of accidents. 

Party at the Bayside Deck

I admit that I love the sun; but there are times when I want to stay in an air-conditioned room. Island Cove recently added a new function room overlooking Manila Bay, with its 170-seater function room that is air-conditioned. Perfect for events and parties on humid days.

Join the Fit Club Fitness Journey

Healthy is the new sexy indeed as Island Cove gives reward to those who would have the biggest weight loss at the end of the journey. Check out the Island Spa and Fitness Gym if you wish to join!

Try Horseback Riding!

For the more adventurous souls, you can try horseback riding. Go around in style and make sure that you hold that pose for the perfect (Instagram) photo.

Living the cowboy dream 

I previously tried horseback riding so I just took the photo opportunity. The horse is very friendly and relaxed, and the staff is well trained at assisting the guests.

Be a Mermaid for a Day!

Make your fairytale dream come true with Oceana Swim and Splash Park‘s Mermaid Swim Experience. Don a tail and learn to swim like a mermaid with Ocean Conservation Advocate, Advanced Open Water Scuba Diver and Freelance Mermaid Performer, and Amarie. Each session lasts for 2 hours

It was a fun yet challenging experience. First, it was a struggle to fit in the tail; and second, it is even harder to stand/swim because the tail is so heavy. One needs to have a really strong legs to be able to swim and flap the tail 🧜‍♀️ It was a bad idea to tire myself in the Go Kart ride that I experienced cramps during the mermaid swim. Thankfully, the mermaids and merman who assisted me are very patient. Thank you!!!

Island Cove and Leisure Park is popular for its Fishing Village where guests can fish in the pond and have their catch cooked how they want it.  I always love dining in its open air hut with the view of Manila Bay.

The Fishing Village has expanded its menu to include Kamayan Sets good for 6 to 8 pax! The festive sets include: Sizzling Seafood, Sinigang na Bangus, Crispy Pata, Kare-kare, Barbeque Pork Belly, Pancit Bihon, Pritong Hito, Bagoong Rice, Lumpiang Sariwa, and Leche Flan. You can choose from 3 sets which ranges from Php 2,800 to Php 3,300. 

Have Western Snacks at Sangley Point

I love the variety of food offerings in Island Cove and Leisure Park. There is no reason to go out to have a fix of the usual comfort food like pizza, pasta and chicken (in my case, root beer!) I was impressed when the waiter found a way to serve us our favorite soda – Mug. 


Sangley Point even expanded its Western Cuisine offerings with Starters Platter, Buffalo Chicken Burger, Linguine al Vongole, Rigatoni al Salmone, and the Madras Style Vegetable Curry.
