It was always a challenge for me to buy a pair of shoes that fits (and get the design that I actually like). I am tall for a typical Filipina (which means I also have a big shoe size). I used to buy shoes from online stores overseas (or buy during travels) which can be a little impractical if we would do the math and calculate all the costs that go with the perfect pair of shoes. 

So this damsel in distress decided to go where the “princes” go and buy their shoes. Yes, I started buying shoes from the Men’s Section. 

One of my favorite purchases is the Sperry Leather White Sneakers.

Sperry is known as a brand for Top Sider shoes and has been an American favorite since 1935.  Paul Sperry was determined to create a non-slip shoes after he slipped and fell on the deckboard of his sailboat. He got inspired by his dog Prince’s ability to run nimbly over ice and snow, and used a pen knife to cut a part from his dog’s foot pad and glued to his old sneakers. 

Currently, Sperry has different styles and designs of shoes perfect for both men and women. It has also collaborated with different culturally relevant brands. I super love the Sperry x Jaws (which I also got a pair from the Men’s Section and wore during my trip to Myanmar). 

I don’t believe in love at first sight, but I just know I instantly fell in love with the Sperry Leather White Sneakers. I wanted something that is classic, and I can wear with my dresses or jeans. 

The leather material makes it look more luxe compared to other white sneakers. I love that it is easy to clean too. I do not need to wash it (I need not worry about it turning yellow). I just wipe and clean it to maintain its stylish look.
