No big goals, just enjoying everyday adventures. Thankful for another year filled with new experiences and little moments with people who matter.
This 2022 recap came 4 days late, but I am no longer living for the deadlines.
There were so many beautiful experiences – from visiting new places in the country (thank you Tourism Promotions Board), traveling internationally after 2 years, attending events as a content creator (still here in the industry!), to enjoying my first incentive travel (as a Financial Advisor), and traveling/spending time with family and friends. I value each day as a gift especially a slow life at home where I just hang out with my parents.
Most of these experiences were documented in my Instagram @ruthilicious. I joined in the fun of creating a 2022 year-ender post in the Instagram Reels, that probably made sense just to me. 😀 I am happy to see my friends’ recaps and know that I am part of that moment in space in time.

I love that Minimalism is receiving a lot of attention on social media. A lot of people I know think that minimalism is all about the black outfits and Scandinavian aesthetics, but I am not here to give a prescription.
Every destination is desirable when decision-making is a process of discovery.
I am in this journey for years, and I am continuously eliminating clutter (home clutter, calendar clutter, relationship clutter) that gets in the way for me to enjoy the life that I really want. You truly get much more in life with less.
I always say that I enjoy adventures – as much as staying home, or attending events and learning new things. In the year 2022, I got to know myself more. I chose to wear the Slytherin scarf even if I am sorted as Gryffindor.
Not chasing the wrong things and always enjoying the flow. Living simply surrounded by family/friends, and knowing how to manage different emotions (because happiness is a default state, and it is okay to feel sad/angry/confused).
I just want to keep the balance and peace. God gave me exactly what I wanted – and more; and I am thankful.
At the start of the year, I always write myself a letter that I read before the new year. This 2023, I just want to tell myself – Just continue doing you. ✨
#RuthingForYou too.
Silence the noise, and reflect on what you really want.
Happy 2023! ✨
