I got a new smartphone to play with and test from Cherry Mobile. It is the Cubix smartphone which was recently launched and exclusively sold online via Lazada.
I am lucky to be one of the first few to own the Cubix smartphone; but I just found the time to unbox it last week. To make up for the lost time, I took it out on a date with me for two days.

Day One with Cubix
I took the Cubix Cube at the mall with mom.
First official snap was taken inside a moving vehicle. I took random shots outside and they were quick snaps (the kind that you do when you do paparazzi shots!) Cube produced decent photos. The natural light probably helped in achieving these shots. Thank you the great Maker!
Let’s check how it would do with Food Porn.
We went to Maple and used the gift card that was sent to me on my birthday. It’s been 4 months and Maple made me feel like it was my birthday again! I ordered my favorite – CHILI FRIES!
I was so full that I felt that I could no longer eat dessert. But they insisted that I order and they served it with candles! So Sweet! Thank you Maple!
Photos taken by Cherry Mobile Cubix were clear and sharp despite taken under incandescent light.
I forgot to include this in the collage. Before heading home, we dropped by the grocery to get my weekly supplies of fruits!
Day Two with Cubix Cube
The following day, I brought the Cherry Mobile Cubix Cube again with me – this time around, it was treated to a buffet at Niu by Vikings!
Food picture quality is good. The interior shots were not very sharp though. Probably because I did the shots quickly producing blurred pictures. There were incandescent lights and pin lights all over the place but one must focus well to achieve good shots.
Anyway, Vikings invited me for the Dine and Learn Program where we learned about Molecular Cocktails. The sample photos below using Cherry Mobile Cubix Cube were taken with zoomed camera.

In the afternoon, I took the Cubix Cube to a shopping treat! Lee Cooper was holding a mad sale at Market! Market! (the only Lee Cooper store in Manila!). You know how we girls have a love affair with fitting rooms! Lee Cooper’s fitting room is designed like a telephone booth! London vibe!
I was looking for some good jeans, shorts and shirts. #tallwomanproblems. The people there are very patient and accommodating. One of the best customer service I encountered.
I had my quick brow tweezing session at BrowHaus and while waiting for my schedule at the Strip, I took my sweet time strolling around BGC. I felt like a typical tourist snapping pictures. Who cares? Do I need to tell them I am reviewing a phone? 🙂
My date for dinner was (you guess!) the Cherry Mobile Cubix Cube phone. We had a lovely night at Contis. I love their Salpicao! I couldn’t believe though that I ordered a can of Coke! I am always a water-person when I eat outside and I am starting to worry I am developing a soda-addiction (first love is still, Rootbeer though!).
Night time shots are good and “dramatic” using Cherry Mobile Cubix Cube.

What I think about Cherry Mobile Cubix Cube?
It is a fairly decent phone good for social media use with decent camera to take everyday photos. Battery pack is impressive which can last up to 4 days on stand-by mode (not connected to internet). It is very light and slim – perfect to slip inside your pocket, bag or clutch. Its size is just perfect for using as a phone or camera. It fairly responds on swipes (not the most sensitive I have used though). The sound quality of the speaker is also decent for its size. It is clear and sound is recognizable. One doesn’t need a guide to determine the best preamp for this unit.
A good deal at Php 4,490 which is exclusively available at Lazada.
