Casa Italia, which means Italian House found a new home in BGC (Bonifacio Global City). The man of the house, Chef Donato from Rome, Italy prepares all the bread, pizza, pasta and gelato in this new homey cafe in Forbestown Road, Burgos Park.
We got to taste the authentic Italian flavor that is truly Casa Italia before it officially opened earlier today.
(I know, I need a manicure! Need to visit French Tips soon!)
To make us feel truly welcomed, more than the usual “Ciao!” , we were greeted with fine music and we were given an Italian name. I am Renata today.
Casa Italia traces its roots from Singapore offers a modern-day interpretation of the traditional Italian bar. It has everything you need in a cafe – good Italian food, coffee and gelato.
Let’s talk about what would greet you first the moment you enter the store – the Gelato Bar.
A variety of flavors greeted me and they are not your usual favorites. Drool!!! There are 40 all-natural flavors ranging from Dark Truffle, Pistachio, classic Vanilla and Durian! Some are even infused with liquor and whisky! Casa Italia’s gelati are made without artificial flavors, chemicals and preservatives.
Piccolo (1 scoop) – Php 130
Medip (2 scoops) – Php 195
Grande (3 scoops) – Php 260
I found a hard time picking the best one but I finally decided on Pistachios, Dark Truffle and Cappuccino (I am always that coffee girl!). But hey, the EARL GREY is a must-try too!
You might find it weird that I had my gelato first before the meal. But I just couldn’t help it!
Casa Italia prepared a special menu for us. But aside from the usual lasagna and pizza, Casa Italia also offers freshly made favorites – salads, oven-baked pizzas and paninis, Italian beers and wine. Chef Donato only uses the finest ingredients and traditional Italian cooking techniques that the experience would give you a taste of Italy.
To cap the meal, we can only ask for coffee. Casa Italia serves signature coffee blend called Otto, or eight in Italy which means that it uses 100% Arabica beans that are never more than 8 weeks old from roasting. It then yields a full-bodied flavor in every cup – and they serve it with such fine art.
Next time I would try their seductive affogato – vanilla gelato topped with a shot of hot espresso!
We joined in the “ice cream toast”!
with Kath, Rochelle, Alwin, Michelle and Kaye
AJ was too early for the 4 pm promo (buy piccolo-sized gelato for only php 8!) – KIDDING!
He actually got to check the whole store and Casa Italia flavors before the official launch.

Truly, Casa Italia is like a second home with Chef Donato playing the gracious host serving only the best food from the freshest ingredients.
