That Harry Potter-Inspired Cafe in Maginhawa, Quezon City

January 6, 2016

I have been planning to visit that Harry Potter-inspired Restaurant/Cafe in Maginhawa ever since  I saw the blog post. The big BUT is – I couldn’t find my wizard and witch friends to join me. No one knows how to ride the broom like me.
No portkey or floo powder needed; or even a ticket to Platform 9 3/4. I booked an Uber Car that brought me to The Nook (thank you Waze!).

Everyone loves this little nook but I was struggling. I felt like falling.
Tell me how secured it is!!!
I saw them – wizards and witches enjoying their mugs of butter beer. True to its name – The Nook is a small cafe – so tiny in every good way.
I was not surprised that there were so many Potterheads in the cafe – mostly kids (and I consider anyone younger than I am as a kid). We first settled in the first floor but decided to transfer to the second floor (and I thought there were real tables and chairs!) but nope – we found pillows and small tables (and I found myself slouching even more because the place is so small – but hey I like it)
It it like a secret place where secret society meet-up. Every inch and corner is instagrammable. We spent most of our time taking pictures. But looking at my phone now made me realized that I didn’t get to take much pictures. #goodweird

The Nook has so much Harry Potter stuff in it – from Hermione’s time turner necklace, wands, Hogwart’s Acceptance Letter, and all the good stuff. To be honest, I was not that excited about the stuff (partly because I have seen them all in the Harry Potter Studio in Leavesden) – I was thinking, I should have bought my own wand, a robe, scarf, and the fun knick knacks I have seen in the Harry Potter Store in London.
… BECAUSE they look so nice and pretty on display in a little secret place like the Nook!
The girls love my Lenovo Vibe Shot! Thank you!
We were lucky to get the chance to check out the cupboard under the stairs before leaving.
The Nook offers good selection of drinks and snacks. I love the Potato Wedges and my Banana Speculoos Smoothie. There’s Butter Beer of course (and it taste quite good). Bring Php 100 to Php 300 Muggle Money to enjoy good food and experience at the Nook.

I wish we had more time to spend that afternoon. The #busywomen need to go (I couldn’t believe we only stayed for only 1.5 hours!). The girls had to go back to work while I had to talk about Harry Potter (too excited for this but I just cannot disclose yet!) Anyway, glad to catch up with the ladies (and I am happy that they love their #bloggermail!).
