How to Make Mondays Better?

How to Make Mondays Better?
I still remember how my Mondays would feel and look back when I was still in corporate – hundreds of unread emails, meetings, client calls and trainings. Sometimes it could be worse with escalations and audit defects. But my Mondays would always start with a cup of coffee and quick catch up with friends and co-workers.

Mondays are every successful individual’s secret weapon. While the first day of the workweek may be a source of dread for some, others choose to see it as a fresh start, full of exciting possibilities. Seeking to inspire its customers to make Mondays better, the country’s authority on premium coffee and tea, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf®, is celebrating some of today’s most admired achievers by sharing snippets and stories of their success.
The brand has handpicked individuals from various fields of work to lead them on their mission to make Mondays better for everyone. Mondays Made Better features the likes of entrepreneur, artist, and social worker David Bonifacio, renowned fashion stylist Ria Casco, graphic designer and illustrator Dan Matutina, and fashion journalist and stylist Meg Manzano — each of whom have openly shared their passion for their work and the reason that Mondays have everything to do with it.
Read on and get inspired how they Make Mondays Better.
“I look forward to Mondays because they’re opportunities to make work life better,” he reveals, who starts his Mondays on Sunday evenings in order to plan, prepare, and pray for the week ahead. “When you are managing multiple things, going for Big Hairy Audacious Goals, you cannot rely on just natural talent. You need to ready your soul and spirit.” – David Bonifacio

“Nothing thrills me more than collaborating with like-minded creatives to capture stories through beautiful images. That, and a stimulating dose of tea gets me up at anytime on any day—Mondays included,” – Ria Casco

“I look forward to Mondays because it’s an opportunity to go back to work. An opportunity to solve new challenges, meet new clients and work on new projects.” – Dan Matutina

“My work has given me the opportunity to be able to work with people, brands, and stores that I grew up with. It is humbling to think that my work can build things that could be a part of someone else’s childhood. Realizing this keeps me committed to my craft, making Mondays not just bearable but anticipated—of course, a warm cup of tea won’t hurt.” – Meg Manzano

Now, here are my tips on how I make Mondays Better:
1. I always look at every work day as an opportunity to learn and be better. In my previous company, we know that everyone is dispensable – so we need to embrace new challenges and skills.
2. I also see Monday and every work day as an “earning day”. If I want something or bought something, I just think that “it is just 1 hour worth of my work”, “it is just one day worth of my work”. Try it, it is a good motivation.
3. Make sure that you have enough sleep the night before. It is a challenge if you are working at night and in graveyard. 4 hours of sleep was a luxury for me (now, I go back to 8 hours :D). It is good to prepare yourself for the Monday battle.
4. Dress up and dress smartly. My previous company imposed a smart casual dress code and we love it like that. We noticed that when we were wearing smart casual, we acted more professionally. During Friday dress downs, we felt a little too lazy to work. It must be the #ootd 😀
5. Don’t even try to work on weekends. I know some people who work on weekends – just so they don’t have enough work to do on Monday.Wrong. Work will just pile up and when you check your mail on Monday, you would notice that your inbox volume has doubled. :p
6. Catch up with friends and talk about their weekends. I was lucky to have such a fun group to work with. We usually talked about movies, travels – and even showbiz news. HAHA.
7. Start your day with your favorite cup of coffee or your favorite drink.

To make Mondays even better, Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf are also offering Featured Teas and Tea Lattes at adiscounted price of Php 100 for all SMALL size (hot drinks) and REGULAR size (cold drinks) from now until October 3, 2016.
