How to Keep Your Home Pest-Free During Travel + Pest-Off Insect Killer

This may not be the sexiest thing that you can read in my blog, but this is something that we need to deal with and talk about.

Maybe not as dramatic as falling in love, or having our hearts broken, or losing someone. But as an adult and a responsible millennial, we need to talk about keeping our home pest-free. I am territorial and I make sure that there are no unwanted boarders in my place especially when I am out and traveling.

I am talking about ants, cockroaches, and mice (ugh, just the thought of them makes me feel uneasy. I cannot believe I am allowing a space for them in my blog).  🤢

Whenever I travel and leave the house, I make sure that I do preparation for the things that I need to bring and things that I leave at home. It is the very reason that I also pack another luggage to leave at home whenever I travel.  I hate the feeling of worrying about things I left back home (like plugged appliances, tube leaks or unwanted boarders) when I should be focusing on enjoying and exploring new places.

I am lucky that in our home, we have a teamwork to make sure that we control these unwanted settlers. We do not have a mice or rat in our home. We immediately spray insecticides to kill roaches. I think our biggest problem now are the ants. They are not as harmful as the others, but mom is still bothered by their presence.
I remember when our house was once invaded by mice who found their way inside our house through the backdoor. We immediately bought traps and made sure that we captured them all (argh, the thought makes me sick now).  🤢 We were so vigilant and make sure that we dispose them immediately because we were afraid that they might escape (and plan a revenge!)
I never felt comfortable during those days. I felt like I had to guard all the food and loot.  😁
I love that I can comfortably and peacefully live in our house without any unwanted settlers. My mom always remind me though to keep my room in order. You see, my room is like my own home inside our home. I usually eat here (ah, Netflix nights!) and keep some food inside.
Whenever I travel, I make sure that I do these things to keep my room and house pest-free:
1. I clean the room and make sure there are no food crumbs or bits left that might invite “guests”.
2. I dispose standing water in the aerator. We don’t want to give mosquitos a “comfortable nest” to multiply their population.
3. I keep food in sealed bags or containers. I can share them with friends when I am back.
4. I empty my trash bin.
5. I spray insecticide. Even if most of the insecticides are odorless, I still spray whenever I leave the room or house.
I know that no matter how clean and conscious we are with our surroundings,  rats and roaches will still find their way inside our home. In such cases, it is comforting to know that there is a brand like Pest Off! which is known for its superior quality products with value-for-money proposition. It is the only brand in supermarkets, groceries, and hardware outlets nationwide that caters to both insect and rodent categories of pest control.

You might have probably seen this ad in major highway in Metro Manila
Local Actress Ai Ai de las Alas is the new endorser of Pest-Off!

Here are the Pest Off! Products:
Pest Off! Complete Insect Killer Odorless is specially formulated to eliminate crawling and flying insects such as cockroaches, mosquitoes, houseflies, fleas, and the like. Best of all, you don’t have to endure the unpleasant kerosene odor while it does its job.

 Pest-Off Insect Killer Glue Board

Price: 175g (small) – Php 140.00-143.00,  350g (big) – Php 196.00-199.00

Pest Off! Glue Boards are the modern rat and mice catcher for modern living. I remember our struggles to dispose boards like this after “the catch”.
The Pest Off! Glue Boards are very convenient to use: just place it along the travel routes of rats and mice, without the need to place a bait or set-up a contraption.

Price of Pest Off! Glue Boards are as follows: Mice Catcher Cheese Scent – Php 99.00-101.00, Rat Catcher Cardboard – Php148-150.00, Rat Catcher Plastic Board Cheese/Peanut Scent –

Php 163.00-165.00
Okay, this would be a very graphic description – but this is how it works: the glue boards trap the
rats because of the strong adhesive on the board. Their paws and eventually their bodies, stick to the the board. If you are worried about contact with the board, it is actually very safe to humans and is non- toxic (believe me, I am more worried about contact with the rat!).  In case the adhesive comes in contact with your skin, you simply have to wipe it away with mineral or baby oil.

Other products under the Pest Off! brand are Ready-to-Use Cereal Bait for rodent control; and
