Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2: Review & Sample Shots
Asus recently introduced ASUS ZENFONE MAX PRO M2 and I got an awesome time playing with it!
I was feeling a bit broken-hearted when my phone died on me during the New Year’s eve, and I needed a replacement smartphone which can stay with me in my everyday (mis)adventures. It was a timely release for Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 and I already felt attached to it.
Just like in any smartphone relationship, I got 3 things that I look for in a gadget: good camera, powerful battery and good performance. It seems that Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 understands those “love languages”.
The ZenFone Max Pro M2 harnesses an epic performance of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 that is able to deliver smooth, responsive power. It runs with 6GB RAM and 64GB ROM and is 11% faster than the previous generation.

Battery Test
I took the Asus ZenFone Max Pro M2 on a roadtrip with friends and I am quite impressed with its performance. After a whole day of drive (with Waze leading our way), music on with Spotify and occasional switches with different social media channels, my battery lasted the whole day up until the following morning.

I always tend to depend on my camera to take photos of my memories. But during times when I needed to take quick shots, I use my phone to capture photos for me. I am pleasantly surprised with how the Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 take good quality photos in different lighting conditions and situations.
The intelligent dual-camera system in the ZenFone Max Pro M2 is the most advanced that can ever be seen in the Max Series line-up. It features 13 scenes for its AI Scene Detection – a same feature found in the flagship ZenFone 5 series – which allows users to concentrate on the subject and perfect results every time.
It uses Sony IMX486 main sensor, allowing it to take any subject in its stride, and capture more-realistic photos at any time of the day or night. The Phase-Detection Autofocus (PDAF) and Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) get rid of camera shake for blur-free handheld shots, with accurate focusing on any subject in an instant.

I was surprised that when I zoomed in, the camera was still able to capture the leaves with less noise.
Performance & Entertainment
A smartphone is a remote control of my life and I use it to communicate, share updates on social media, take photos, transact and close deals, and of course, consume stuff online.
During down times, especially when stuck in traffic or before hitting the bed, I watch Netflix (check out my current favorite Netflix series and documentaries).
I usually watch Friends after a disturbing series/documentary
Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 provides a great viewing experience with the latest All-Screen high-res 6.3-inch FHD+ (2280 x 1080) display and 19:9 All-Screen Display. The screen provides vibrant colors and sharp display.
Joey is my favorite character
It also uses a five-magnet speaker with a metal voice coil, driven by a powerful NXP low-distortion smart amplifier that delivers powerful, detailed and crystal-clear sound – allowing you to share your music or movie with friends. Personally though, I prefer using earphones.

Switching between apps is smooth and easy too. I think, the only time I encountered system lag is when it is prompting me to do a system update.
Verdict
Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 provides a really impressive features for its price of Php 14,995.00. A decent phone that gives a powerful performance and battery life but didn’t feel bulky. I think the only cons I experienced is it takes a while to charge a phone (but I am not surprised, because one full-charge can last you up to two days).
