Staycation at Club Punta Fuego: Review + Birthday Weekend

Staycation at Club Punta Fuego: Review + Birthday Weekend

I didn’t really plan anything for my birthday this year. I always celebrate life everyday and when you are at this age, a good day would mean staying in your bed and watching Netflix.

But a few weeks before my birthday, after one crazy night with friends, we planned to spend my birthday on a beach. We first thought of Boracay. It’s been a while the last time we visited Boracay and we were curious how the beach look like after its clean-up. Unfortunately, all the good hotels in Boracay were fully-booked and flight tickets soared high for that weekend. We thought the nearest beach in Manila that we can visit is in Batangas. We were in luck to find an affordable Batangas resort: Club Punta Fuego.

(long blog post ahead, but I hope you enjoy the photos) 😊

Club Punta Fuego is a premiere membership resort in Batangas that offers private and exclusive luxe getaway. It is only 2.5 hours drive from Manila and is a perfect destination if you just want to escape the busy city. We had a great 3 days and 2 nights in Club Punta Fuego that let us live the eat, sleep, eat life.

Before heading to Club Punta Fuego, we first drove to Tagaytay for a quick lunch at Cafe Voila.

Lunch at Cafe Voila, Tagaytay
Cafe Voila is a charming restaurant that is full of colors, textures and flavors. When we arrived, we were greeted by the colorful chandelier and vibrant wall colors. There are Buddha figures, antique cabinets, colorful chairs and eclectic displays. We were unsure what is the inspiration of the designs that are reminiscent of Bali and Morocco. We sure love everything about the place especially the colorful plates and glasses (and the FOOD!!!).

We had Cafe Voila Signature Satays Php 495

Garlic Beef Tapa Php 375
Pork Chop

My friends were always up for something and they bought a cake served by the Cafe Voila staff who even sang (I don’t think that is something they usually do!). I kind of got a hint when the music changed into a Happy Birthday song – that was funny and embarassing (!!!) – but super love how my friends try to make the day “extra”. 🎂❤️

Cafe Voila, Tagaytay
We love the penmanship!
We drove for another 2 hours from Tagaytay to Nasugbu, Batangas. The three of us didn’t have a decent sleep the night before and we were all trying hard not to fall asleep – trying to entertain each other. 😀

Then we saw the gates to the weekend gateaway. Club Punta Fuego is inside an exclusive village and guards have to check for your name and reservation before they can let you in.

When we got to the reception area to check in, the main hall welcomed me with a beautiful sunset.  I was excited to just laze around, do nothing and enjoy a good drink.

After we checked in, we had a quick briefing about the property while having our welcome drinks.
Club Punta Fuego is a members-only private resort in Nasugbu, Batangas consisting of the Main Club in Peninsula de Punta Fuego, the Beach Club at Terrazas de Punta Fuego, and the Punta Fuego Yacht Club.

This Batangas Beach Resort is secluded but has everything you need for a good and relaxing staycation. There are dining options such as San Diego Restaurant, Il Jardineto Restaurant, and Member’s Lounge. Facilities include infinity pools, private beach and water sports facilities. There are also game room, theater room, mini-golf course and playground for the kids.

Club Punta Fuego is also a popular wedding destination in Batangas. There is a chapel and a banquet area which the club can set up for weddings and events.

The most important thing: Club Punta Fuego offers a wifi connectivity and there is an ATM machine inside the club which allows the guests to shop for souvenir items in the gift shop.

I mentioned that Club Punta Fuego is a members-only resort club, and I heard that it is very hard to buy a membership (even if you have money). I love that the property keeps its standard ensuring members get their privacy, security and peace they deserve.

For those who do not have a Club Punta Fuego membership or doesn’t know anyone who has, you can also book an accommodation to enjoy the facilities.

Our Seaview Casita : Club Punta Fuego Room

We got a Seaview Casita with two double beds – perfect for 2 adults and 2 kids, or 3 adults.

It has all the usual hotel room amenities – TV with cable, air-conditioner, mini bar, coffee and tea, complementary bottled water, hot & cold shower, hair dryer, telephone, a writing desk, and safety box. I love that there are wine glasses in the room too!

The bathroom is spacious and has an outdoor space for you to hang your wet swimwear/clothes. Although there is nothing fancy about the toiletries, Housekeeping makes sure that our supplies were replenished and towels/bathrobes were changed everyday.

The room appears to be a little too dark at night, but I think it sets the mood for a good sleep.

We checked in at around 6:00ish, and when I opened the door to the veranda, this was the view that greeted us.

The veranda with the view of the West Philippine Sea has been our favorite spot in the morning (while having coffee) and at night (before hitting the bed).
Where to Eat at Club Punta Fuego?
Traditions and Contradictions Bar and Lounge
We decided to check out the bar after we checked in. We were still feeling a bit full from our late lunch but we ordered bar chows and beer.
Club Punta Fuego Nasugbu Batangas Resort
I love the lounge’s chill and relaxed ambiance.  The central bar even serves wine, cocktails, beers, coffee, teas and fruit shakes. While the menu boosts Spanish- Mediterranean inspired food.

We were only checked in for a few hours and Club Punta Fuego was keen at impressing us! We were hanging out outside the bar when I heard the bartender singing a Happy Birthday song, and serving me a cake. A cake with strawberries (oh, I love strawberries!). 🍓🍓🍓
I know my friends were behind this! They are really sweet to make things extra – and it was well – executed by Club Punta Fuego. Thank you!!! 😭😭😭

The bartender then told us that dinner was actually waiting for us at San Diego Restaurant. We were actually still feeling full but we didn’t want to turn down a sweet gesture and invitation.
San Diego Restaurant
San Diego Restaurant offers buffet spread for breakfast and dinner – and its expansive cuisine took us to a delightful journey during our stay.  That night, we just tasted the dinner offering and had fruits. The staff served us fish and Mongolian Grill. It was already 10:00 PM and the restaurant extended their operating hours  – but we didn’t want the staff to work overtime so we hurriedly finish at 10:30 PM.

The morning breakfast spread is something to look forward to, too! San Diego Restaurant in Club Punta Fuego has everything for everyone. The buffet spread offers Filipino Breakfast (we love the Arroz Caldo!), there is bread spread (the ensaymada is really good!), cereals and fruits (we love the sweet papaya and watermelon!). 😋
My friends love the juices and hot chocolate.

We were in good luck during our stay. We got to welcome the Chinese New Year in Club Punta Fuego, and for dinner, the club prepared a different buffet offerings featuring Chinese cuisine favorites.

We were feeling a bit full (from our lunch at II Jardineto – we will tell you more about it in a bit), and we decided to just check out the food and take photos. However, we found the food so inviting that we decided to sample the dishes. 😋✌️🤭

We were not really big when it comes to buffet. But everything just tasted so good!
As usual, the staff graciously welcomed us and even extended a few minutes while we finish our dessert (I love the Sago’t Gulaman!).
II Jardineto
II Jardineto is an Italian Restaurant located at the Lower Beach Club. Its outdoor dining with the view of the sea makes it perfect and romantic anytime of the day. We had lunch at II Jardineto on our second day and we were treated with flavorful food made with fresh ingredients.

The resident chef surprised us with the following:

Classic Brushchetta Php 196
Foccaccia Bread with Roma Tomatoes and Fresh Basil

Poupetite Php 385
Traditional meatballs in classic marinara sauce

I love the classic red sauce with ground beef and pork rogu.
We were already feeling full and this was served!

Pollo Ala Diavola Php 385
We were warned that it is cooked spicy because of the Italian herbs and chillies.
I love its kick that goes well with the blanched veggies on the side

We were so full that we decided to skip dessert (You can buy Carmne’s Best Ice Cream at the club!)

Our Stay in Club Punta Fuego
Club Punta Fuego Nasugbu Batangas
For our staycation, I just wanted to chill and hangout with friends  – and that was exactly what we did.
Club Punta Fuego Nasugbu Batangas
Club Punta Fuego has 12 beach coves and different facilities that you can enjoy alone or with friends/family.  You can go around via a buggy cart which picks up and drop off guests to different spots every 30 minutes. We got to tour the Punta Fuego Yacht Club, Lower Beach and Upper Beach areas.

We learned that some of the guests arrive via yacht or private helicopter.
The club may also arrange helicopter ride services for guests.

Club Punta Fuego also has a good venue for weddings and event. My friend and @brideideaph will actually host a wedding in Club Punta Fuego this summer. I can imagine the beautiful sea backdrop and the sunset. So beautiful!

PS. If you need wedding planner, contact @brideideaph or comment on this post.

We enjoyed our late lunch at II Jardineto
We found our spot at the beach in the Lower Beach Club. I love that even if there are other guests in the area, we still got our privacy.
It was awesome to even bump into a former co-worker (hello Cap JJ!)
We had a great afternoon just killing time, soaking under the sun and laughing.

Guests are also given an access to Terrazas de Punta Fuego (about 15-minute drive from the Main Club) which has Turtle Pool, a free-form cascading pool that has filtered views of the beaches in Batangas in between lush trees and foliage. We passed by the Terrazas de Punta Fuego on our way to Club Punta Fuego but decided to stay at the Main Club because we feel that we got everything we need there.
One of our favorite spots in the Club Punta Fuego is the Traditions and Contradictions Bar & Lounge. If we were not in our room, we were at the bar and having drinks – and talking and laughing!
It is the best spot to witness the sunset. It was like sitting at the balcony of a theater while waiting for the golden show 🌅

I told #D that it was one of the best sunsets I have seen. The other one that I love was in Guam.
Here is how I described it in my Instagram:

The sun appears like a ball of fire with it’s crisp outline slowly dropping yet quickly disappearing – and distributing its colors over the sky. Just beautiful ❤️

I didn’t know sunsets can make me poetic?

But the more beautiful were the hours we spent back in our room. It was funny that during our last night, we were so full that we couldn’t even move. We were laughing at how crazy and lazy we were. Under the stars, #D and I talked about our ultimate dream! Haha
(sorry guys, not sharing because it is just between us). Maybe when it finally happens, I would share in this blog.

Club Punta Fuego Review
I love that we just got to hangout and relax at a nice place like Club Punta Fuego. Here are some of the things that I love about the place:
Club Punta Fuego Staycation Review Nasugbu Batangas
✅The nearest beach in Manila – we were planning to fly to Boracay but we only needed to drive 4 hours to experience sun, sea and sands.
✅Exclusivity and privacy – there are many spots/restaurants in the club where you can stay and just chill with friends.
✅Spacious room  and toilet (with bidet) – we have so much space to move around the room and the toilet is our favorite place! Haha
✅Our Casita Room with Veranda and Sea View – our favorite place in the room!
✅Good Food and many different food choices – the restaurants are affordably priced too!
✅Personalized Service – from Front Desk, Housekeeping and Restaurants Staff, everyone seem to understand the guests’ needs. They are quick at responding to requests and they are willing to extend help to make sure guests have a comfortable stay.
✅ Club Punta Fuego has been around for 20 years, but it is still beautiful and well-maintained.

For a price of Php 8,500+ per night (+ additional for extra person), you get a good deal at Club Punta Fuego.

Thank you Club Punta Fuego for a very relaxing and comfortable stay! It is nice to be surrounded with greens, the sea, and the stars (at night). Also add awesome friends at the equation! 🤗

Thank you!!!  Til next!
I do not usually plan anything on my birthday and treat it like any normal day. I always say that I celebrate life everyday – like I can eat anything I want if I want to, I can plan and go to places or do things at my own phase. But I realized that every year, it is really the people around me that makes my (birth)day special . ❤️ Thank you  to #D and #T for spending their days with me (they both filed vacation leaves). Its been years the last time we traveled together. I am so blessed to have wonderful people in my life and I promise to be a blessing to others too. 😘
