One of my favorite forms of entertainment is watching movies and concerts at home. The pandemic truly has changed the way we enjoy things. From attending movie premieres, I now find comfort in watching movies at home.

The Design and Specs

I love the simplicity and functionality of the design. The projector lens is located in front, with speakers on the side that produce Dolby Quality Audio. The power cord and output ports are located at the back panel. On the top part are the power button and the wheel knob for adjusting the projected screen. They are strategically located for easy access and use. The power button shows Red LED Light when on stand-by, and Blue LED Light when it is on.

There is also a handle made of soft leather-like material for easy handling when traveling or going on a staycation with friends. There is also a screw hole at the bottom for mounting the unit to a camera tripod.

Setting up the LUMOS RAY Projector

As I have the Smart version, I just need to plug in the power and I am ready to watch movies/videos.

I plugged the power cord, turned it on, connected to my WIFI, and signed in to my Netflix account.

It is that easy!

I have the option to download other streaming apps with LUMOS RAY’s 8 GB storage. But, I am sticking with my current subscription for now and managing my me-time. It is good to see that I have options for different streaming apps.

My Experience

I had a great time catching up on my favorite contents – from BTS’ Suga’s new music to new Netflix documentaries. It is nice to enjoy these videos on a bigger screen. Surprisingly, the LUMOS RAY Home Projector gives a clear video output even in daylight. But its true strength is best experienced at the dark. It is powered with 720p HD clear resolution and high brightness of 3,000 Lumens which makes colors more vivid.

I only have a small space in my room (and living area outside my room), and I love that the LUMOS RAY Projector still gives me that home theater experience with a clear video and sound quality. A 3-meter distance can project an impressive 100-inch screen! The sound quality is loud and clear, and there is no need for me to connect a separate speaker.

I really like its minimalist look that matches my style. As it is easy to set up and keep, I am inspired to create a real entertainment room/area in our home.

I am excited to explore its other features, specifically, the Wireless Mirror Casting which mirrors apps and activities on my phone. It is perfect for playing mobile games, taking in calls, or sharing videos from your phone.

One of the things I wish to see as an improvement for the product is the inclusion of batteries for the remote control (took me a while to use it because I have to get the compatible batteries) and easier navigation to type using the remote control. A cover for the lens (or the whole unit) would be a good addition too, since the LUMOS RAY projector is also designed for travels.
