One of the things that I love about staying in a hotel is waking up to the rays of golden sun and going down for a breakfast buffet! Think of bacon, french toasts, waffle and the selection of cereals. This morning, I have experienced a different kind of breakfast selection from Nobu Restaurant in Nobu City of Dreams Manila.Â

Nobu Hotel at City of Dreams Manila is inspired by world-renowed Japanese culinary genius, Chef Nobu Matsushisa and is championed by actor Robert De Niro and Hollywood producer Meir Teper. The boutique hotel offers a celebrity-inspired and luxurious yet fun experience to the guests. I got the Nobu-hype on with a breakfast meeting with Nobu Hotel’s General Manager, Marlon Hirsh and other blogger friends.Â

My usual breakfast plate consists of potatoes, egg, sausages and bacon (!!!)
My complains why I always (always) eat bacon. I told her it is my comfort food and it reminds me of home whenever I have breakfast somewhere. There are only a few hotels and restaurants who serve the best bacon though. The one in Nobu Restaurant did not disappoint.Â

The Nobu Restaurant is a contemporary fine dining venue with two private dining rooms, a sushi bar, floating water cabanas, two Tepanyaki tales and a Chef’s table. This morning, we enjoyed the great and unique breakfast selections in one of the private dining rooms.Â

Here’s a quick tour of the buffets stations. Unlike other breakfast buffets  (read about the best breakfast buffet I had in Indonesia) which offer continental breakfast, Nobu’s selections are carefully selected and presented. There’s a touch of modern Japanese fused with influences from Chef Nobu’s travels through North and South America.Â
Some of the must-tries are Yuzu Soba Pancakes, Eggs Matsushisa, Breakfast Tobanyaki. There’s salad bar, congee, pastries and of course, bacon (!!!). For dessert, you can have healthy picks of fresh fruits.Â

I was wondering where the bread station was.. well, I was presented with Waffle and Pancake Station. They built the station for nothing – they serve one of the tastiest French Toasts (infused with milk) – so imagine enjoying every bite of toast with warm milk filling.Â

Aside from Breakfast Buffet, Nobu Restaurant also offers Breakfast Minis. These are mini servings of all-time favorite dishes with a twist. My favorites are Champorado (one of the best I have tasted – close to Grills and Sizzles) and the Tapsilog which uses braised wagyu cheek, with garlic rice and tomato jam. It is interesting contrast to have the tomato jam instead of the usual tomato slices. The beef is tender and tasty – and the serving is just perfect for you to indulge in other breakfast mini offerings.Â

Egg Matsuhisa – poached egg, spinach toasted bao, bonito egg sauce.

Champorado Nobu Style – need I say more? Well it has bacon furikake

Nobu Style TapsilogÂ
We had a pleasant breakfast with Marlon who graciously ordered another Tapsilog for me while he listened to our blog stories. After breakfast he toured us around the hotel.

Nobu Hotel Suite welcomes the guests with a view of the pool and City of Dreams Manila. The design is modern Japanese with luxurious amenities from the bar to the bathroom. I love the spacious bathroom with toilet bowl (like the one they have in Japan).Â

At the ground floor of the hotel is the pool, spa and gym facilities.Â
Indeed, Nobu Hotel has everything for every age and interests.Â

It is not an ordinary morning for me today. How about you?
