Scarsdale Artisanal Delights: Home of Crocnut Sandwiches in Manila

I just saw a picture of me in an event that is screaming a baby bump. Haha. I approved it in my profile anyway. It is telling me to start eating healthy, and to start moving. But it is not easy to a little stretching, especially that there are new restaurants in the Metro offering exciting new food (and homey ambiance!). Take for example, the new crocnut place in Shaw Blvd – the Scarsdale Artisanal Delight that serves yummy crocnut sandwiches!

The name sounds so sophisticated – something I thought that came from the US (from the Scarsdale street in New York). But this new place is Filipino-owned cafe which is from the same people who brought us Go Nuts Donuts.

I remember hearing about Scarsdale during the Go Nuts Donuts 10th Year Anniversary event. Scarsdale is a town in New York where the owners used to live and where they first tasted artisan donuts. Thank you to this family, we can now taste handcrafted donuts and cronuts in Manila.

This is the place where you can totally relax and be yourself. Tubes, pipes, brick walls, artwork and simple chairs and tables complete the dining area of Scarsdale Artisanal Delight. The second floor dining is my favorite place. There is a couch in the corner that reminds me of the set of Friends – we owned it that night.

Scarsdale Artisanal Delight gave a little twist to the industrial design.

I love it.

My friend and I were looking at it from the outside and

we thought it looks like a homey loft.

The washroom is well-maintained

and has this cute wall art 😉

What is a Crocnut/Croughnut Sandwich?

From the usual dough that you eat for croissant – the unsweetened donut is used as a bun to serve sandwiches! We were torn what to order because the names in the menu look so delicious – so we decided to just have one of each! It is served with yummy french fries that doesn’t lapse after a few minutes.

like Croque Monsieur (with the addition of fried egg on top!)

I love that it comes as sweet on the first bite, but

leaves a spicy, tangy after-taste.

We were already filling full, but we got to try the

crocnut and donuts!

I love Carlo’s Favorite Croughnut Php 100.

It is filled with dulce de leche topped with dark chocolate ganache

and pecan nuts. The dough crust is really soft and flaky.

We also tried the Bailey’s Custard Filled Donut Php 65

and Smore’s Php 55

I love that the donuts are soft and not too sweet. 🙂

Scarsdale Artisanal Delight offers drinks and coffee to go with your sandwiches and crocnuts. Surprisingly, they also serve alcoholic drinks.

Bottled Juice Drinks

The calamansi concoction with rum and jalapeno.

I was warned that this potion is a “traitor” as it tastes

like a salad dressing juice,

which is smooth to drink and refreshing.

I love our Scarsdale Artisanal Delights experience! It is like walking in to the set of our favorite TV show series where the characters hang out (and have coffee or drinks). The Scarsdale Artisanal Delights though has so much more to offer – and we don’t need to fly to New York.
