Four Seasons HotPot City

April 23, 2015
Finally, Four Seasons! It is an invitation that you just couldn’t say no. From the same group that brought us the luxurious buffet place, Vikings and upscale buffet restaurant Niu by Vikings, comes Four Seasons HotPot City! A buffet hotpot restaurant strategically located in bay walk near Mall of Asia
When mom and I arrived, we were welcomed by the long lines of customers waiting aside. It was like a scene at the Vikings! Thankfully, our gracious host, Raquel has reserved the VIP room for us together with other bloggers.

Four Seasons hailed the Fresh and Healthy food choices. Raquel showed me around the restaurant, amidst the steaming pots, I quickly took snapshots of the restaurant details. It looks like a high-end supermarket where aisles are spacious, food tags are visibly placed and food are fresh.

Interior and Stations

Four Seasons Hotpot City features 7 main stations:  Meat,  Seafood,  Vegetables Appetizers, Desserts, Japanese, and The Bar. The Premium Bar is soon to open. I am curious what they would offer in the premium because I have already seen and tasted great selection from the current buffet spread.

The interior is designed once again by the same interior designer of Vikings restaurants. I love the details of the store, especially the plain glass panel on the side of the bay which makes it like a big canvass. It is modern and homey. It doesn’t look like your typical Chinese Shabu Shabu house. I heard that at night, diners get to see the golden sunset from the dining area.
The main dining hall has tables with dual-sided pots for sharing and cooking two different hot pots.
Luckily at the VIP table, we got our individual pots to cook our own specialty!

The Food Selection

Lots of Premium Meats! There’s Wagyu, Lamb, Pork Loin! They are freshly sliced in the restaurants 😉

Balls Galore! Dimsum Haven it is! I hate that I am writing it at this hour and I am craving so badly! I have very simple cravings and appetite – I am good with servings of good old siomai! Haha

Look at these dumplings!
For those who have adventurous tastebuds, you can go for these – ORGAN MEATS!
We don’t eat them at home, and mom never include them in the dishes.
I was not ready that afternoon to try these.. maybe next time.
At least I know in Four Seasons, these are prepared fresh and clean.

Sea Food and Sea Creatures are present!

If you feel a bit full and umay with all these high cholesterol goodies, you can always grab some veggie sticks from the Salad Bar or candies from the Dessert Station! 😉 Now, that’s a tip 😉
Okay, I know friends who have already tried Four Seasons and I basically heard their stories and experiments with different broths and ingredients! Some of them cooked the most unholy ones (like, mixing sinigang broth with organ meats?)
I am not the expert when it comes to shabu shabu or cooking! I am just not a soup person, and I always skip the soup – I always go straight to the main meals.
For starters, Four Seasons offers different broths – Sinigang, Pork, Vegetable and Chicken. Servers go around with different pots of broths. You, as a customer has a freedom to choose your ingredients. You can make your own Sinigang (fresh vegetables are available!) . Mom was not very keen on Sinigang though because we just had Sinigang the other day, so I thought I would just have simple noodle creation.

As suggested by Raquel, I tried the carrot noodles and picked cheese balls (that’s mochi with mozarella – so simple yet so yum!), balls, fried quail eggs, mushrooms and oyster mushrooms (I love mushrooms)

My mom enjoyed her visit at the Vegetables Station 🙂
My very simple plate 🙂
Gerry’s (#FoodForDude) adventurous’ plate! Wow!

We settled back in the VIP room and I requested for vegetable broth. The table at the VIP room has individual induction stove which is totally sleek and safe. A quick push on the buttons can turn the heat up. No additional service required (but I must say the staff is very well-trained and accommodating).
And this is how you cook!  Looking at it now, it looks like an unhappy pot! LOL To tell you honestly, I was still full and bloated from the food trip that we had in Sky Ranch. So I thought I would just have a very light and healthy noodle soup – and hey I succeeded! Haha
They say the secret is in the sauce, and look – you can make your own sauce from the sauce and pastes available in the bar! Thankfully, there’s my fairy godmother, Raquel to take care of the sauce for us!
In between slurping my hot pot of noodle creation, I enjoyed the tempura! It is one of the best I have tasted! (must-not-miss!).  Tasty, filling with not much batter – it is perfect even without the sauce. There are also regular cooked dishes in Four Seasons for those who missed the Vikings Experience and want rice meals (like my mom!).
I had salad and more greens after eating, then of course, it is time for dessert!!!
I had two servings of my favorite – Mango Crepes! This time with Salted Caramel Ice Cream!
My mom enjoyed the fresh fruits and halo-halo! (yes, you make your own!)
And I thought it would be healthier to bring in some good bacteria in my tummy with this yogurt!
(yes, you pull your own!)
Just like in the Vikings, the drinks are also unlimited! There are different colored coolers, sodas, Milo drink, coffee and beer! I was all good with my Mug Root Beer!
This really caught my attention – a beer brand from Thailand called CHANG!

It is very refreshing, light and sweet-tasting.  I think it is best served in chilled mug 🙂

I just realized we didn’t have a picture during our visit! Haha. I know that’s not the last time. I will sure be back with a bigger appetite, and I would even bring complete family.
Four Seasons has a decent and well-maintained washroom too (don’t worry!). It is one of the things I love about the Vikings group 😉
