How I Use My Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 Pro with Projector?

December 21, 2014

I am in tech clouds today! While writing this review of Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 Pro, there is another box waiting for me downstairs ready for the unboxing! Add the gazillion little gadgets I have in my room – I am literally floating with awesome gadgets in my room!

I finally found the perfect time to write my review of the awesome Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 Pro (yes, that tablet with projector!) which I brought with me from London to Manila (ah, you should have seen the look of the airport security personnel when I unloaded my gadgets – they are from the same brand! You got it right! #iamlenovo ). I got this gadget as a gift from the Lenovo Takes London launch (and just an awesome perks of being a Lenovo Insider!)

I want to start this entry with a short disclaimer – I am no certified tech blogger and don’t confuse me with figures and specs. My review of the gadgets featured in my blog are based on my lifestyle and how these gadgets contribute to the fulfillment of my goals – be it for entertainment or business.

How do we start?

Let’s unbox!

Lenovo takes technology and innovation seriously that even the boxes and packaging are amazingly beautiful. The Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 Pro comes with manual, JBL earphones (that matches the JBL speakers) adapter, and USB connector.

The Yoga Tablet 2 Pro – 13 inch Tablet with Projector Design

I have to be honest, the first time I saw a tablet and a phablet (phone + tablet), I found it weird to be using it to take pictures and answer calls. It didn’t occur to me that I would own a bigger tablet that would give me a total entertainment experience.

The Yoga Tablet 2 Pro is a beautiful tablet of 13 inch full screen LCD with a nice cylinder on the side (that makes it perfect for the Hold mode) and sleek silver hinge. It opens with a push of a button – and that’s when the magic begins. The Yoga Tablet 2 Pro can then be used in different modes aside from Hold mode – Stand, Tilt and Hang modes.

I have previously talked about my first impressions of the Yoga Tablet 2 Pro on this blog entry, but for those who missed it, here are the specifications:

♥ enhanced sound with dual front speakers
♥ cinematic Dolby Audio and Wolfson Master HiFi
♥ 8 mp rear camera
♥ dual band Wifi and mirco USB with OTG connection that lets people charge their phones
♥ extended battery life
♥Projector with 16.9 high resolution image in any surface for an instant
 ♥ 50-inch theater experience
♥ Developed by Lenovo’s product engineer, Ashton Kutcher
 ♥ Android Kitkat 4.4
So how are these cool specifications be any good?
Keep scrolling, I would show you how I use my Yoga Tablet!
I only look for 3 things in a gadget/tablet/smart phone – screen sensitivity, camera resolution and speed – but looks like the Yoga Tablet 2 Pro gave me so much more.
Playing Games

When I unboxed it, I first downloaded a game – Temple Run to test its sensitivity. I ended up playing the game for an hour after my initial test! I love the vivid color, the crisp sound and screen’s sensitivity.

Watching Movies/Videos via Projector
This is the coolest thing about the Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 Pro! When I showed my family this cool feature, they were so amazed! I initially thought I could only project videos and movies that I have downloaded and saved in the tablet, but I later figured out that I can project even Youtube videos! You can instantly project videos, presentations and images with just a click on the menu. On the side is the focus switch that allows easy adjusting. The built-in JBL speakers are good to produce sound for a small room (or tent – if you are camping!), but you might need bluetooth speaker for a beastly sound.
Please imagine me behind that Lenovo Yoga Tablet,
enjoying the videos and having some chips!

LISTENING TO GREAT MUSIC
JBL brand is not there for nothing. Although I seldom use earphones when I am at home – the headphones come handy when I want to enjoy music at my own pace.

BROWSING and SURFING
The Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 Pro gives a different browsing experience because of its huge screen. It sure does make a good conversation starter. Whenever I bring it outside, my friends always ask, “is that the Lenovo Tablet with Projector?”
And I always feel like a superhero whenever I proudly say Yes and TENEN – project to any surface!

A Fancy, Expensive Wall Frame
In a Hang mode, the Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 Pro makes a good, fancy wall frame. I thought it would be cool to keep it in our wall and run a slide show of our pictures. 🙂

A Different Yoga Experience

I brought my Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 Pro in a staycation in Pampanga. I took advantage of the beautiful poolside to do a little stretching and yoga – and my Yoga Tablet joined me. What makes it awesome? It can stand still like I did! Unlike the typical tablet which would need a good case to support it and make it stand, the Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 Pro is so portable, keeping its beautiful stance in whichever surface I place it on.

What I love about the Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 Pro:

♥ The Projector (!!!) I think it would be awesome and good for those who always do presentations and client meetings.
♥ The new entertainment experience (I want to go glamping soon and bring this awesome gadget! Who wants to join me?
♥ The flexibility and different modes – my favorite is the Hang mode!
♥ The vivid color and screen sensitivity!

What I don’t like much about the Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 Pro:
It is a bit big for me to bring around whenever I am out. It seems that this lovely device is set to stay home – which is anyway, still good – because it gives a different entertainment and movie experience. Now you understand why I seldom attend movie screenings now 🙂
