Working Out at Home During Quarantine with Huawei Watch GT 2e

While staying home during the quarantine, I try to stick with my everyday routine by dedicating time for a quick workout to help me burn fat and keep my body healthy.

It is nice to indulge and binge-watch my favorite Netflix series, but I want to keep a balance in everything. The main goal is to lose excess fat and stay healthy. I always get applause from friends for my dedication and discipline – and that helps me keep going. It is also better to have a fitness buddy to help you track your progress (while still observing social distancing). I got the new Huawei Watch GT 2e.

I follow a simple workout routine that targets certain areas. When I get bored, I follow routines in Youtube. There are so many helpful videos.
I am not into HIIT. But I love exercises that promote flexibility, balance, and strength.

I got a Huawei Watch GT 2e in Lava Red (which for me is a Money Heist Red).

I find the design rather hip and rad. The body is made with 316L grade stainless steel, manufactured under 1400 degree Celsius. For a trendy sports watch, it still looks minimal. The case also features a sandblasted surface for better texture. Radial patterns bezel on the surface subtly reflects light,

The Huawei Watch GT 2e. has unibody design with the strap already attached – but is stil interchangeable. I wonder if Huawei would soon sell different straps for this series? It is designed for more outdoor activities providing comfort and durability – allowing the sensors to work properly to capture the data and movements. The material feels lighter to the skin too, and the design allows my skin to breathe.

It retains the integrated glass display with a borderless

touch experience to users. It features a 1.39- inch AMOLED high precision touch display supporting a Retina-grade 454×454 high resolution. The display gives the same colour saturation and contrast as that of Huawei phone – even visible under bright daylight.

One of my favorite features of the Huawei Watch GT 2e is the Motion Watch Faces.

It gives a really fun, hip and youthful vibe to the watch experience. Although I always choose classic, plain and timeless design (evident on Watch Face I chose for my Huawei Watch GT 2), it is nice to add colors once in a while.

Depending on your style and personality, you can choose from over 200 Watch Faces designs that represent artists’ interpretation of quality life.

There is a wide variety of pre-installed watch faces for users to choose. For examples, the Ray watch face includes two time zones in the same interface, allows users to know the time without additional effort. Also, the Clear watch face provides range of information such as calories counter, weather, heart rate or battery life. With the Gallery watch face, users can choose their favourite picture to be the background of the watch face.

The Huawei Watch GT 2e watch runs for 2 weeks but with its new power-saving feature, Smart Power Saving 2.0, it can intelligently detect the wearing situation and user’s scenarios to allocate battery power reasonably.

During everyday use, it will switch to low-power mode to increase battery life by about 20%, while for heart-rate monitoring and working out, it increases battery life by 15%.

I think it is a smart feature to help you continuously workout and measure your improvements without the worry of dealing with low battery in the middle of a workout.

100 workout modes (85 custom workout modes, 15 professional workout modes)

One of the features I love about my Huawei Watch GT 2 is the workout modes. The new Huawei Watch GT 2e even supports smart tracking for 100 sports, including the 15 professional workout modes, eight of them are outdoor sports (running, walking, climbing, hiking, trail running, cycling, open water swimming and triathlon), while the other seven are indoor sports (walking, running, cycling, pool swimming, free training, elliptical machine and rowing machine).

In addition to 15 professional workout modes, it can track another 85 types of sports in six categories, including extreme, leisure, aquatics, fitness, ball game and winter sports, such as hip-hop, rock climbing, parkour, skateboarding, surfing, tennis and baseball.

I wish I could use all these features!

Automatic Workout Detection

I love this new feature that automatically detects if you are working out – and you simply just need to confirm it on the screen. It is very helpful especially when I am doing my grocery run and I get to track my steps and calories burnt.

Improve Health-Monitoring Features

The new Huawei Watch GT 2e has an improved Heart Rate Monitoring. Huawei has implemented a discrete non-visible light monitoring method that is not intrusive yet convenient. Under idle status, if the user’s heart rate is too high or too low for more than 10 minutes, a reminder will be sent to the user.

The Stress Monitoring through Huawei Truralex technology helps in keeping an eye on user’s mental health status. This is very beneficial in times of crisis and uncertainty. I personally rarely check this data on my Huawei Health app, but it is still good to have this handy.

At first glance, you can simply pinpoint the difference in design and style of Huawei Watch GT 2e to Huawei Watch GT 2. The Huawei Watch GT 2 gives a classic/sophisticated look (even if I am mostly using it with the black silicon strap), while the Huawei Watch GT 2e is more trendy, hip and youthful sports watch.

The Verdict:

I don’t consider myself a fitness buff, but after using my first Huawei Watch GT 2, it helps me stay focused on my workout everyday – helping me build a good exercise and sleeping habits.

The new Huawei Watch GT 2e is a good companion for starting a more holistic and healthy lifestyle. It is much more affordable than the Huawei Watch GT 2, but is packed with the same features – or even more.

I always go for minimalist and classic pieces, but using the new Huawei Watch GT 2e lets me enjoy color and youthful vibe once again.

Personally, I love using fitness watch. It helps me stay focused on my fitness goals.
I love seeing how my heart beat increases as I get more engaged with my routines. The best part is seeing how many calories I burned while cooling down and feeling all the sweat. I think owning a good fitness watch is a good investment.

I just wish I could use the other 99 workout modes after the lockdown.
